New to Westside?

We all understand what it’s like to be new and how daunting it can be. So here is some information so you know what to expect and to make it easier for you to venture into a new place.

About Us

Westside Church of Christ is a contemporary Christian Church and a member of Churches of Christ in Australia. We believe that God is at work in your life and we would love to be able to help you be attentive to this. We love to meet new people and look forward to welcoming you!

Sunday Mornings

Each Sunday about 150 people attend Westside and we endeavour to ensure that all visitors feel welcome and encouraged.

Our congregation comprises many ages and cultures. You will find that the people in our congregation dress in all styles – from casual to business attire.

Our services usually last for about an hour and fifteen minutes and we enjoy a time of singing, communion, prayer and a message from the pastor. We also take up a free-will offering.

Westside has a lot of young families and while the kids are welcome to remain in the service, we have a wonderful children’s program – Kingdom Kids – for children aged 3 to 12. There are also crèche facilities for children from 18 months to 3 years. For parents with babies, a parents’ room is located at the rear of the auditorium.

Getting Connected

It can be difficult to feel connected by simply attending worship services. At Westside we believe that feeling connected to a church is about relationships and this can take time. One way to get connected is to join a home group. Westside has a number of home groups that meet at various times during the week and at various locations. These groups meet on a regular basis and not only enjoy a time of fellowship but also bible study and prayer times. Joining a home group is a great way to feel connected to the church and to form life-long friendships.

Serving God together is another way to get connected at Westside. There are many roles for people who would like to get involved. We are always looking for volunteers to help out with the morning service whether it be on the music team, helping with the communion and offering or even setting up the auditorium. If you have a special talent or gift and would like to get involved we’d love to hear from you!
